Counseling & Evaluation Services are offered in Elgin and Austin (Texas). Specialized Types of Non-DARS Evaluations are Listed at the End of this Page.
D.A.R.S. Counseling and Support Services are offered at the Elgin location and evaluations are conducted at approved locations (such as D.A.R.S. offices/sites) - Case Managers are encouraged to email appointment requests to katherinesai0354@aol.com or call the Elgin office at 285-6117 or the Bastrop Field Office Director's Line (D.A.R.S. Michelle Dodson, Bastrop Office has it on file).
(Non-D.A.R.S.) Individual and Family Counseling & Evaluations:
*Counseling services are open to persons of all neurological functioning - need not be on the autistic spectrum to be served. In-Person sessions are held at the Elgin and Austin locations (based on convenience of client and clinician availability to serve the desired location).
Off-Site, Phone, eMail, and Skype Video Sessions are available (for mobility or psych. related mobility impaired) as well as face to face sessions. Clients must legally hold residence in the state of Texas in order to engage in phone, eMail, or Skype sessions. *Note: Therapy services provided by telecommunication device cannot be guaranteed as 100% confidential due to involvement/use of telecommunications companies providing services.
Fees for uninsured clients are variable based on income *General fee $65 per session is set at this time *Lower fees are negotiable based on client financial need *Sessions below $35 are referred to New Life Institute (if/when Intern-clinicians are available to serve at that rate). Fees for insured clients are governed by Lonestar Psychological Services - Please call 512-206-0808 for information on insured service fees. *Most major insurance companies are accepted via Lonestar Psychological Services.
*For emergency services please call 911 or go to an emergency room. For Mental Health Emergencies in Travis county (TX) you may call 472-HELP and a psychiatric emergency staff person will attend to your mental health emergency. Other non-emergency numbers that may be of help include 1-800-273-TALK (suicide prevention 24/7 hotline "talk" line) and Texas 211 (dial 211 for access to multiple health and human service options that may be of assistance.)
Autism Evaluations are Offered at The Elgin Site and Lonestar Psychological Services Site in Austin - Fees are Variable Depending on Client Needs / Ability to Pay *New Life Institute, Austin site only (not a D.A.R.S. site)
(Multiple Master and Doctoral Level Clinicians and Interns ; fees generally range from $20- $135 depending on clinician availability).

Specialized Evaluations: Child Custody, Competency, Substance Abuse, Chronic Pain, Dementia / Cognitive, Gender Reassignment, Academic / Career, Court-Related, Bariatric, CPS & STAR Evaluations are Provided by Lonestar Psychological Services www.lonestarpsych.com in Austin and Off-Site locations, including IHC/Big Sky in Elgin.
